There is so much to see and to learn, it’s really well laid out, many of the exhibits are amazing especially the huge rocket on display in a giant outdoor structure which you reach by taking the free trolley. Take a few snacks and water bottles in your backpack.ĭefinitely worth the visit! Look over the website and plan your day in advance for an easier visit. Loved the Moon rooms and actual moon rocks and soil samples. Inside the Starship gallery many display board photos and text are faded & distorted. We just kept walking and found it eventually. The words “theatre” underneath the wall lettering in the Main Room made it seem like that was the name of the theatre. Starship Gallery: it was hard to find this room. The young lady who led our International Space Station session was fantastic!! Learned alot & fun to watch. Sell your place with the right workers to show them off! The tours themselves had interesting things to see…but could have been better quality staffed. He was there for the paycheck, nothing more. The Tram tours: the young man who led ours spoke too fast from a written script, without pointing out what he was referring to (Astronauts Training room) and without any level of enthusiasm. Bathrooms were attended to often & clean. Plenty of hand sanitizers & wipes around. There are many other options in the Food Lab area, but the prices were even more expensive. We had lunch in the Grab & Go area (premade sandwiches, fruit, chips, drinks, salads, hummus, snack bars). Unprofessional and not fair to those who already purchased tix. They were booked solid before our morning even started, and we were out the option. You can imagine the disappointment when we learned upon arrival that a week before, they changed their procedures and starting offering Mission Control tour purchases online. We bought online tickets a month in advance & were told twice by phone staff leading up to the day that we could reserve Tram tix the morning of arrival. Not an easy environment for young children and below: overstimulating! Many parents looked miserable trying to manage them and enjoy their visit. SSH is a very large facility, lots of crowds and noise. Tired, crying small kids made it hard to hear speakers or videos. A preteen & older can stop to read the many hundreds of displays & understand the tours, movies, etc. We were glad we waited to take our kids until they were older. There is A WHOLE LOT to see and read and hear, and I was blown away by how many restless small children & toddlers there were. Overall we had a great time at Space Center Houston. She made me a Superhero with my wife, and peace has officially returned to the Galaxy! I cannot thank her enough! I am super grateful she picked up! Way-to-go Yolanda, the Gift Shop, NASA! She might have actually restored my faith in the belief of exceptional people, caring about others and their work enough to provide “Excellent Customer Service.” Read more She verified and secured the exact product I needed and took extra measures to ensure that the correct product would ship to me. I have two words for you… Yolanda Carmona! From the moment she picked up, she put me at ease and sprang into action. Well, turned out the shirt I needed was not available on their website, so that left me with calling customer service and hoping for the best. I found the Space Trader Gift Shop website and was hopeful that I could simply order her another one. She was REALLY bummed about it! Of course, I swiftly went into action to “fix” the problem. Unfortunately, a few weeks later, her new, favorite shirt became a “new shade of gray” while getting some highlights put it at the local beauty shop. My wife swiftly fell in love with a really nice shirt and as one could imagine, it came home with us. My wife and I experienced NASA for the first time! It was amazing! We of course had to get some souvenirs, so we stopped by the Space Trader Gift Shop.
